Pork Tenderloin with Soya Sauce,
Nutmeg and Cloves
Daging Babi Has Dalam Dengan Kecap Manis, Pala Dan Cengkeh
A more simplistic dish which is full of flavour. The pork can be replaced with fillets of fish, chicken breasts, beef tenderloin or tofu.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
-
600g pork tenderloin
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
2 tbsp lime juice 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce:
-
4 tbsp sweet soya sauce
-
6 garlic cloves, crushed, finely chopped and sautéed until brown
-
1/2 tsp ground cloves
-
1/2 tsp nutmeg
-
2 tbsp lime juice
-
50ml water
-
salt and black pepper to taste
Steps:
-
Slice the tenderloin into 2 cm thick slices.
-
Season with salt, black pepper and lime juice.
-
Heat the frying pan and add oil 2 tbsp of vegetable to the pan.
-
Place the pork slices into the hot pan and cook for 3 minutes on each side. Use two pans if your pan is not able to comfortably fit all the pork slices. (an additional 2 tbsp of oil would be needed if using 2 pans.)
-
When the pork is cooked, put the slices into one pan. Add the cooked garlic, soya sauce, cloves, nutmeg and lime juice. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Serve with hot steamed rice and green vegetables.
